Philadelphia!
Mar. 25th, 2011 12:42 pmWhy is it that all the ACRL sessions I'm most interested in attending are scheduled at the same time? And why are so few of them on e-books? Hmph. (By which I mean: I am plotting my schedule for next week. Colleagues: what must I not miss?)
Socializing-wise, it looks like I'm free for dinner on Wednesday, though I am toying with the idea of going to the Kaki King show at World Cafe Live. But that doesn't start until 8. Anybody else going, or interested in going?
I have a vendor reception on Thursday that actually looks like it'll be fun (as opposed to awkward, uncomfortable, and overcrowded, as is often the case).
Friday, I'm sorta torn. The conference reception at the last ACRL was pretty fun, though what I mostly remember about it was
kenllama running around getting people to dance (with some success, might I add). On the other hand, I also found an Irish music session that starts at 8 that night for beginning/intermediate players. On the gripping hand, that would mean taking my fiddle on the plane, an exercise often fraught with peril (checked baggage: NOT AN OPTION). Hmm. Might be better to go to the reception, then hunt up that brewpub Mel took me to last time. Belgian beers ftw.
Wednesday during the day looks good for hanging out as well, once I've recovered from taking the red-eye; my first Thing is at 1:30 that day. Early lunch/brunch?
More later. I'm still working out my schedule because none of the vendor events are on the online conference planner. This would be a lot easier if they were.
